Dubai Land Department to launch 'Simple, Secure, Fast' network to make Dubai the world's leading real estate and investment destination at GITEX Technology Week 2017.
Dubai Land Department (DLD) will be showcasing its latest technology solutions during the 37th edition of GITEX Technology Week, which will run from 8th to 12th October 2017 at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC).
During the exhibition, DLD will launch the world's first real estate smart application, set to make Dubai the world's leading real estate and investment destination.
This new blockchain system will create a secure database that records all real estate contracts, including lease registrations, and links them with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the telecommunications system, and various property-related bills, plus a tenant database, including Emirates Identity Cards and the validity of residency visas. Tenants will be able to make electronic payments any time, from anywhere in the world, eliminating the need to visit any government entity.
Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director-General of DLD, said, “Our adoption of this system is aligned with our commitment to responding to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest city in the world. Our commitment to keeping abreast of the latest technologies also reflects our focus on supporting the Dubai Plan 2021 to make Dubai a city of happy and able individuals who are proud to call Dubai home."
“Following the launch of the Dubai Blockchain Strategy by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed in October 2016, which aims to make Dubai the first government in the world to apply all transactions through this network by 2020, DLD created a smart and secure database that records all real estate contracts. This makes DLD the first government entity in the world to implement all of its transactions through the blockchain network.”
Bin Mejren added: "DLD is participating under the slogan 'Simple, Secure, Fast' to introduce visitors to the applications we have launched in the world of technology. These are all focused on providing customers with easy, secure and quick services that maximise convenience and data protection while also saving their precious time."
They will also introduce visitors to all of the services provided by DLD in accordance with the highest government standards, answer their questions and queries about DLD's smart applications, and highlight DLD's role in making Dubai the world's leading real estate and investment destination.
